The Future of Green Energy: Challenges and Prospects

Green energy, also known as renewable energy, has emerged as a critical solution to global energy challenges. With the world facing climate change, resource depletion, and environmental degradation, the transition from fossil fuels to sustainable energy sources is more urgent than ever. The development of green energy is not only crucial for reducing greenhouse gas emissions but also for ensuring energy security and economic sustainability. This article explores the current state of green energy, its benefits, challenges, and future prospects.

The Current State of Green Energy

Green energy encompasses various sources, including solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, and biomass. In recent years, significant advancements in technology and policy support have led to a rapid increase in renewable energy adoption worldwide. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), renewable energy accounted for nearly 30% of global electricity generation in 2022, with wind and solar power experiencing the fastest growth.

Solar Energy

Solar power has become one of the most promising renewable energy sources. Advances in photovoltaic (PV) technology have drastically reduced costs, making solar panels more accessible to households and industries. The efficiency of solar panels has also improved, with some modern models converting over 22% of sunlight into electricity. Countries like China, the United States, and India are leading in solar energy deployment.

The Statesman : A new restaurant in the lush green Gwal Pahari

Since we visited the restaurant when bird flu was raging, the restaurant avoided serving us anything related to poultry.

The ongoing pandemic forced Delhi’ites to remain cooped up indoors for months, putting a brake on socialising and entertainment. Naturally, who wanted to venture out and invite getting infected? Since the only thing that could have driven people out of their homes was good food, as soon as the lockdown was lifted, restaurants and lounges reopened and food lovers made a beeline for restaurants.

As our first dining-out venture, we visited Chevron, a stunning new restaurant-cum-lounge in Gurugram. Opened recently to help people get over the “quarantine fatigue”, Chevron is the latest entrant in the food and beverage scene.

The restaurant’s cool ambiance pleases everyone as soon as one enters this fine dining joint. Strategically located near the Aravallis in the lush green Gwal Pahari area of Gurugram, Chevron boasts of a beautifully landscaped exterior and an artistically designed interior.

With music as its central theme, the restaurant has a design sensibility that is not just pleasing to the eye; it also offers a vast amount of space for one to relax while enjoying an evening out with friends over drinks and snacks or even while hosting a family lunch.

The well-lit restaurant is divided into three sections with a separate VIP lounge on the mezzanine floor that can be easily used for private parties too.

The ground floor is carefully divided into lounge and dining areas along with a well-stocked bar and a well-equipped kitchen. The brain behind Chevron, 27-year-old entrepreneur and founder of Streamin’ Music Group, Keshav Bhardwaj, has made sure that this new place would soon be a favourite with the party circuit. An alcove for the DJ or a live band is complemented by syncronised lights.

The well-equipped sound system ensures the right decibel no matter where one is seated.

Coming to the food offered, the menu is quite exhaustive and is primarily epicurean cuisine. The restaurant offers a good mix of Italian, Oriental and Continental cuisine that ensures there’s something for everyone. Visit anytime of the day, whether one is just looking for a quick evening bite or a full-fledged meal, the food at Chevron will satisfy one’s taste buds completely.

Depending on the weather, the beautifully landscaped outdoor is also inviting, where people can sit out and enjoy the flora and fauna while savoring the kitchen specialties. But we preferred to sit indoor. As it was lunch time, the restaurant was quite empty, which is what we wanted with the pandemic still in the air. In fact, the restaurant has taken care of all precaution ~ from sanitization to social distancing ~ to beat the fear.

After settling down, we began going through the menu. The attendant served us bread with various dips.

The bread was so soft, we began enjoying it. For starters, we were served Grill Caesar salad, which was very refreshing and enhanced our expectation of upcoming dishes. We were also served Italian Baked Bruschetta baked garlic bread with vegetable toppings as part of the starters.

The Assorted Cabbage Roll was blanched cabbage stuffed with mushroom and veggies with aromatic flavour. It was good but could have been better.

Since we visited the restaurant when bird flu was raging, the restaurant avoided serving us anything related to poultry.

However, we did not miss chicken dishes as the chef served a variety of delicacies in fish. For the main course, we were served Corn Crusted Fried Fish, served with greens, fries and tartar sauce. We really loved it. Our repast ended on a sweet note with Dark Chocolate Creameux.

Overall, we had a good dining experience at Chevron after the monotony of lockdown.

Beat This : Changing sounds in the same place

This Chevron is new, but in no way inhibited. Nestled amid the foothills of the Aravallis, Chevron is as accessible to those in South Delhi as it is to those in Gurugram and Faridabad.

Chevron, according to the Oxford English Dictionary, defines a V-shaped line or stripe, especially one on the sleeve of a uniform indicating rank or length of service. Sergeants typically have chevrons, for instance.

This Chevron is new, but in no way inhibited. Nestled amid the foothills of the Aravallis, Chevron is as accessible to those in South Delhi as it is to those in Gurugram and Faridabad. Entering inside, you immediately get echoes of Blue Frog, that musical Mumbai hotspot that briefly found a home in Delhi and other cities before going splat on the road of commerce. Hopefully this shan’t happen here.

Chevron is Keshav Bhardwaj’s baby, and the space’s DJ console is his pride. For Keshav AKA Klipr, an electronic house and electro artist, this space is his dreams come to life. “Being into music, I used the latest in music and technology to offer a never-before experience to our patrons.

At Chevron, special attention is paid to the acoustics so that not only is the sound of music uniform everywhere, but there is no blaring or jarring of sound also. Special lighting technology has also been used, which can be easily changed as per the mood, time or even theme.”Its’ exteriors are dramatic recreations of nature done in stone and metal, interspersed with statues representing the technological biases of humanity, man and woman.

Inside, the sprawling yet segmented space is designed by interior designer Shikha Sharma of Hive, complete with ever-changing LED lights, synchronous walling, and more. While the entire space can flow together, it can also be split into various entities, with customised speakers making sure you get what you paid for.

Visually striking, thanks to the plethora of screens all over, there is also the food and bar menu. Taking a cue from the space’s eclectic soundscape, the food menu hits all the culinary hotspots of the world without claiming allegiance to any particular one. Their extensive menu includes soups, starters and main courses including the likes of Arabic shish touk, sashliks, Mexican enchiladas, traditional Swiss fondues, chicken/vegetable stroganoff, lamb and or artichoke and mushroom goulash, New Zealand grilled lamb chop with red wine sauce and more. Given the wide varietal we would recommend sticking to a singular cuisine throughout.

The Asian Chronicle : “Chevron” chilling zone into nature with great ambiance

Whether to enjoy weekends or to eliminate week’s work fatigue. Have to party with friends or spend time with family. If we are from Delhi or Faridabad our first choice will be Delhi or a hill station.

But now Chevron, a bar & lounge is the best destination for gurugrammers and residents of Faridabad. Built-in the beautiful location of the Aravalli hill, this restaurant cum bar and lounge is an excellent chilling space in Gurugram. The amazing synergy of nature and technology is seen in Chevron. Spreading across several thousand square feet, this Bar & Lounge will not only be liked by the corporate world of Gurugram but the premium class from Delhi NCR will also love it.

What is special?

Strategically located around the Aravallis in the lush green Gwal Pahari area of Gurugram, Chevron boasts of a beautifully landscaped exterior and an artistically designed interior too. The minimal design and the sprawling space immediately capture your heart as your eyes take in design patterns with black and white lines on the floor that have actually lent their name to the restaurant. Chevron (design patterns with black and white lines) has a design sensibility that is not just pleasing to the eye; it also offers a vast amount of space for one to relax while enjoying an evening out with friends over drinks and snacks or even while hosting a family lunch. The well-lit restaurant is divided into three sections with a separate VIP lounge on mezzanine floor that can be easily used for private parties too. The ground floor is carefully divided into lounge and dining areas along with a well-stocked bar and a well-equipped kitchen.

Thoughtfully designed by interior designer Shikha Sharma, special attention has been given to the fact that every corner on the ground floor has a clear view of the center and the bar too. The central area is also the center of attraction with a uniquely designed stage that could be used for live performances, DJ nights etc. What holds your attention here is the prism shaped DJ console that can be used to display millions of images and graphics keeping the time, mood and occasion in mind. The massive screen on the wall behind the console along with two huge panels on the side walls ensure that every person on the floor gets to witness the magic being created on stage.

“BEING INTO MUSIC, I HAVE MADE SURE TO USE THE LATEST IN MUSIC AND TECHNOLOGY TO OFFER A NEVER-BEFORE EXPERIENCE TO THE PATRONS. WHILE MOST PLACES FOCUS ON MUSIC, NO ATTENTION IS PAID TO THE SENSIBILITIES OF THE PEOPLE COMING THERE TO ENJOY A RELAXED EVENING. THE MUSIC AT MOST PLACES IS EITHER SO LOUD THAT CONVERSATION IS DIFFICULT OR IS SO BAD THAT PEOPLE DON’T ENJOY AT ALL. BUT AT CHEVRON, SPECIAL ATTENTION HAS BEEN PAID TO THE ACOUSTICS SO THAT NOT ONLY IS THE SOUND OF MUSIC UNIFORM EVERYWHERE, THERE IS NO BLARING OR JARRING OF SOUND AT ALL. SPECIAL TECHNOLOGY HAS ALSO BEEN USED FOR LIGHTING THAT CAN BE EASILY CHANGED AS PER THE MOOD, TIME OR EVEN THEME.”

The rest rooms offer state of the art fittings with a separate area for the especially abled too.

While the ambience of the place plays a crucial part in its success, the food is an equally important element. Commenting on the same, Chef Martin Rozario who has worked with the Oberoi Group, Hotel Trident, Geoffrey’s and other established restaurants says, “Our menu offers a good mix of Italian, Oriental and Continental cuisine that ensures there’s something for everyone. Whether you are just looking for a quick evening bite or a full-fledged meal, the food at Chevron will satisfy your taste buds completely.”
